ABOUT SARAH
Welcome to my practice. I have over fifteen years of professional experience working in various counseling positions in NYC non-profits, colleges and universities and I have ten years of private practice experience. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, both from Fordham University, and I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. As the Person Centered Topic Expert for GoodTherapy.org, I regularly contribute articles and respond to Dear GoodTherapy.org questions from readers (see the Publications page). I served one term as the Professional Development Chair and two terms as the President for the NYC Chapter of the New York Mental Health Counselors Association. I went on to serve one term as the Membership Chair for the Board of Directors at the state level.
I have experience working with clients of all ages who bring a wide range of issues to counseling. I am especially interested in supporting adolescents and adults who are at various points of transition in their lives. Sometimes these transitions are related to family and intimate relationships, sometimes to career issues and sometimes to struggles within oneself. I am particularly interested in the transitions facing new mothers and fathers as they adjust to parenthood. I also enjoy working with couples which led me to complete some post graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. Whatever the concern, I am deeply invested in supporting clients through the process, freeing them to live the life they desire.
